Disability Engagement Group

The Disability Engagement Group (DEG) includes people who have lived experience of disability and was established to support the operations of the State Disability Inclusion Plan. The groups role includes providing advice and direction as a working group on particular strategic State reform initiatives lead by the Department of Human Services.

Membership aims to include representatives from the following groups:

  • Women with disability
  • Parent and/or carer of a child with disability
  • Aboriginal people with disability
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse people with disability
  • People with significant intellectual disability or who have high levels of vulnerability due to disability
  • LGBTIQA+ people with disability
  • People with disability from regional communities.
